Colt Technology Services, a London-based multinational telecom provider, has suffered a major cyberattack attributed to the WarLock ransomware group. The attack, starting August 12, caused ongoing outages across Colt’s hosting, porting, Colt Online, and Voice API services. Threat actors, exploiting a Microsoft SharePoint vulnerability, infiltrated Colt’s systems, stole sensitive financial, employee, and customer data, and are demanding $200K for 1 million documents. While Colt initially described the disruption as a technical issue, it later confirmed the cyberattack and is working to contain the breach. Core network infrastructure remains unaffected, but disruptions persist, and cybersecurity experts suspect the company may be downplaying the incident.
